On the occasion of the Annual Lecture delivered by Ms. Nandita Sarma from Botanical Survey of India on the auspicious Botany Day on September 20, 2019 at Guwahati College an Alumni Association of the Department of Botany, Guwahati College (AADBGC) was established. In the alumni association, Dr. Dipak Sagar Das, Dr. Smriti Rani Barma Deka and Mr. Debendra Nath Bhattacharyya were selected as Advisers and Dr. Bula Choudhury as President; Mr. Jiarul Choudhury as Vice-President; Dr. Badan Barman as General Secretary; Mr. Selim Mehmud as Assistant General Secretary and Dr. Mrinal Das as Treasurer. Admission Year-wise a class representative were also selected as the Executive Committee Members of the Alumni Association of the Department of Botany, Guwahati College. The Department of Botany, Guwahati College organized an online contest for design and develop a logo for the AADBGC and accordingly four logos were received. The adopted logo of the AADBGC was selected by the Executive Committee held on 19th July, 2020 by blind voting system from four logos submitted by different individuals. The logo which was selected was designed and developed by Mr. Baikuntha Boro, an alumnus of the Department of Botany, Guwahati College.
